Long Rein

Long rein work is often considered the ultimate discipline of all weightless work. Before a horse can be long-reined, it has to be advanced enough in its training to be able to work at a sufficient level of collection. It also needs to be absolutely obedient and trusting, as the trainer walks beside or behind the horse, a position in which it is impossible to force the horse to cooperate.
