The rider may be in charge, but horse and rider need to be one to win a battle. This is what makes mounted combat so absolutely fascinating. Here come the centaurs!
I've been reconstructing European mounted combat techniques since 2008, always aiming at re-connecting martial and equestrian arts. Until recently, I've only worked on late medieval techniques,
mainly Thalhoffer and Paulus Kal.
In 2013 I founded my own mounted combat training group, with martial artist and re-enactor Tobias Wenzel as our trainer in armed combat. We are currently reconstructing 18th century cavalry sabre
fighting after Carl Timlich (1796).
